2007 BMW E90 320D Diesel ELV Reset via Autel MS908S Pro

I’ve got a BMW 3 Series, I wanna use Autel Maxisys MS908S PRO to reset ELV for this 2007 BMW E90 320d diesel. Luckily the car started for the customer, it is running which is a good news. There are several warning lights on the dashboard now.

Connect Autel MS908S Pro with BMW OBD2 port:

Go to “Service” after auto detect vehicle VIN >> Power train >> CAS

There are 3 reset functions: reset starter lock, car access system reset, reset internal electric steering lock frequency counter.

I will do them all in turn.

Reset Starter Lock

Reset starter lock >> Electronic immobilizer(EWS): reset starter lock

Turn on terminal 15(ignition), press “Continue” >> Continue.

So it was reset.

Prompt:

No EWS4 is installed
Select the corresponding service function under:
Engine
engine electronics or diesel electronics
Adjustment functions
Digital Motor Electronics (DME)Car Access System(CAS)
The Service function is completed.

Car Access System Reset

Return back to press “Car access system reset” >> Car access system reset

Resetting car access system (CAS), press “Continue”.

The car access system(CAS) was reset, service function completed. Press “Continue”.

Reset Internal Electric Steering Lock Frequency Counter

Go back to press “Reset internal electric steering lock frequency counter” >> Reset the internal electric steering lock fault counter.

The internal ELV fault counter must be reset and a control unit reset performed after replacing the electric steering lock.

Note: this service function must be performed only after replacing the electric steering lock.

Press “F1” to continue.

The internal ELV(Electronic Steering Lock) fault counter was reset.

Upon the completion of the service function, read the fault code memory out of the control unit below and work through as required: car access system.

Press “Continue”.

Service function completed, press “Continue” to complete.

All finished! As you can see, the lights on the dashboard were off.
